SOS Survivors Offering Support (SOS) is an all volunteer organization of breast cancer survivors who dedicate time to help recently diagnosed women. SOS provides "Recovery Gift Bags" filled with useful and needed "gifts" from local and national businesses to each breast cancer patient on the day of their surgery. Handmade knit/crochet scarves are an integral part of these bags. When the scarf is completed the knitter/crocheter attaches a tag which tells the patient that the scarf was handmade and the knitter signs their name. Patients who receive these scarves love the fact that a "live" person made the scarf just for them. Each year more than 125 women undergo breast cancer surgery at HCGH, and for many, this gift bag is a ray of hope and sunshine on an otherwise very gloomy day.

We will be a collection point for these gifts -
and remember, they don't have to be pink, just pretty!
